Application

Power supply unit is used for laser diodes matrix (LDM) pumping current forming, which work in quasi-continuous mode.

Features

Special tools used for leading and trailing edges forming ensure optimum LDM operating mode. These conditions essentially enlarge LDM durability. Special circuit solutions effectively safes LDM from primary source damages. Main power supply merits are small size, low heat generation, high efficiency.

Primary power source’s requirements

  • Power supply at +58V: voltage deviation – not more than +5%, used pulsed current – not more than 10A, average used current – 130mA. It is recommended to use C-L-C ore active filter in this supply. In this case it is possible to decry supply voltage till +55V.
  • Power supply at +12V: voltage deviation – not more than +10%, used pulsed current – not more than 0.1A, average used current – 60mA.
  • Power supply at -12V: voltage deviation – not more than +10%, used current – not more than 15mA.
     

Extended functional ability

Combined action of PSL-120.1 and thermoelectric cooler (TEC) control unit PSC-120.2 is foreseen. This TEC control unit ensures:

  • LDM temperature maintenance;
  • Pumping current pulses time parameters setup;
  • Pumping current pulses amplitude and LDM temperature control;
  • Pumping current pulses amplitude parameters setup and monitoring via PC;
  • Work synchronizing of some pairs of PSL-120.1 and PSC-120.1 in case of multi-channel pumping system of laser active element.
